Makhan is a Specialist in Strategic Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development. Before launching Sahel Analytics, he held the position of Project Manager at one of Mali’s first functional business incubators, Impact Hub Bamako. In this position, Makhan was responsible for designing more than 20 programs and events for the hub for a combined value of more than US $ 500,000. He has also coached and trained more than 1,200 young Malians and supported the creation and development of more than 50 startups, as coordinator of the Next Economy project. Makhan also led the development of fundraising and programming proposals with organizations, including the World Bank, UN Women, the Government of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom Embassy, ​​among others. From 2011 to now, Makhan has participated in several research and studies on business issues, renewable energies, entrepreneurship, social and inclusive entrepreneurship, agribusiness, logistics and supply chain. Management, among others. The various studies and research in which he has participated cover West Africa and South-East Asia. Makhan also has several years of experience in managing an agro-pastoral family farm that has given him the ability and vision to become a leader and advocate for agribusiness development in Mali. He is also the promoter of Sekai Institute, an educational platform that brings Mali and Japan closer together. Makhan is fluent in French, English and Japanese. He graduated from the’ School of Business Higher Institute of Management, Dakar, Senegal and the Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University, Japan. Makhan holds an Executive Certificate in Problem Solving from McKinsey Academy. An enthusiast of figures and decisions based on scientific facts and theories, Makhan wants to contribute to improving the access to information of Malian and sub-regional entrepreneurs and organizations.
