OpenGov Digital Youth Summit
Are you a young person that cares about making the response to COVID-19 more inclusive and transparent? Do you think young people should be at the heart of decision-making on what comes next? Do you have great ideas for how we can use open governance to improve pandemic recovery efforts?
Then join us for the OpenGov Youth Digital Summit! Hosted by Accountability Lab, Restless Development and the Open Government Partnership, the 2 day virtual summit will provide an opportunity to connect and engage with young people around the world. It will offer a global, online platform to explore the values and approaches youth can use for open governance during Covid-19 and catalyse action in response.
The OpenGov Digital Youth Summit will be convened by the OpenGov Youth Collective, which was launched during the OGP Global Summit in Ottawa, Canada in 2019, and will take place on October 27th and 28th 2020.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Ensuring an Accountable and Inclusive Response and Recovery from the Covid-19 Pandemic with Young People.”
The focus of the summit will be the development of practical ideas for ways forward, and experience sharing across countries that can improve open governance outcomes. Sub-themes will include public participation and civic space, including youth leadership and inclusion; anti-corruption, including open contracting and transparency; and digital innovation, including overcoming the digital divide.
